A Nurse Continence Advisor (NCA) is a Registered Nurse who has successfully completed an educational program at McMaster University and received a NCA Certificate in this specialty area of nursing. An NCA can assess, diagnose and treat people who have problems with urinary and/or fecal incontinence. NCAs work closely with clients, families and members of the health care team to help clients manage the problem(s) and  learn the best ways possible to meet their goals and improve their quality of life.

As Nurse Continence Advisors (NCA), we are proud of the level of expertise and education that is afforded by this title.

In order to protect the quality standard that is associated with being a NCA, we have developed continuing education (CE) and clinical practice standards.

Membership is from January 1st to December 31st of each year and must be renewed yearly.
